AIG nominations for 4th and 5th grade students are accepted all year long. A nominations is a request made by a parent, teacher, or student emailed to the chairperson of the School Based Committee for Gifted Education to consider a student for an AIG evaluation.
AIG testing takes place twice per year. This year testing will take place in October and January. Parents or teachers who wish to nominate a student for first semester, must email their nomination to Mrs. Barnett ([email protected]) by September 22, 2017. Parents or teachers who wish to nominate a student for second semester, must email their nominations to Mrs. Barnett by January 5, 2018. The nomination should include the child's name and homeroom teacher along with a short note about why you'd like to nominate the student for AIG.
Once nominations are received, the School Based Committee for Gifted Education convenes to discuss the academic history of each student who has been nominated. The committee will determine if testing for AIG is appropriate, and parents will be informed of the decision.
